Some of the reasons for oestradiol measurement are described below:

  • In women with amenorrhea (no menstruation) or abnormal menstruation, assessing estradiol levels can help diagnose menopause Or any underlying disorder of the reproductive system.
  • During treatment of infertility involving the stimulation of follicular increase to increase ovulation, oestradiol is monitored regularly while fluctuation in this hormone can break hormone balance Delicate that is necessary for ovulation, preparation of the endometrium and implantation of the fertilized egg. Evaluating oestradiol can therefore help monitor the treatment and predict its success and incident.
  • Some cancer forms and also non-oncogenic conditions rely on the presence of estradiol.
  • The blood level of estradiol is increased in a condition called precocious puberty, when the menstrual periods begin earlier than expected, in between 8 to 12 years of age. In cases of delayed puberty, on the other hand, the level of estradiol in the blood is generally lower.
