Obituaries: H. Aileen Johnson Itzen - Obituaries - The Daily Astorian

H. Aileen Johnson Itzen, 76, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, in Sequim, Wash.

She was born Feb. 10, 1931, in Clatskanie, to Edna and W. Claude Johnson of Mist. She attended Mist Grade School, then graduated from Vernonia High School in 1949. She attended Pacific University in Forest Grove and Oregon College of Education in Monmouth.

She married Eugene Itzen in Corvallis, Oct 10, 1953. They divorced in 1976.

Mrs. It worked for several years at Allied J & H Lumber Company in Mist, Nehalem Valley Motor Freight in Portland, First National Bank-Portland, then in Berkeley, Calif., For Crocker-Anglo Bank. In Corvallis, she worked for Dorsey Bus Company, originally as a bus driver and then in the office. While working at DeeJay Realty, she earned her broker's license, then opened her own property management firm, which later laid the foundation for Brown, Itzen & Williams, Inc. In 2005, she sold the business and retired. In October 2006, she moved to Sequim.

A past president of American Business Women in Corvallis and the Corvallis / Albany Multi-Family Housing Council, she was a member of the Willamette Board of Realtors and the National Real Estate Board of Realtors. She worked several years on the Corvallis Fall Festival committee, and was a member of Good Samaritan Episcopal Church in Corvallis. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star - St. Mary's Chapter, actively involved in Nehalem Valley Pioneers Association, and was a Grand Color Cross Degree member of Nehalem Assembly of Rainbow in Vernonia.

Family members said She has read, working on family genealogy, traveling, history, family heirlooms and her family.

A grave memorial is planned for August in Corvallis.
