Playoff Roundup: Lindberg scores twice to help Rangers knot series with Senators

Playoff Roundup: Lindberg scores twice to help Rangers knot series with Senators

The win ties the teams' second-round series, 2-2.

The New York Rangers are within two games to one in their second-round Stanley Cup series against Ottawa.

"It's good for us to get a couple slaps in the face here, wake us up", said Senators center Derick Brassard, who is pointless in the series. We always try to get a strong start, but some games you really come flying out of the gates. "And until Pageau's game-winner â€" a snapshot past Henrik Lundqvist's glove to conclude a 2-on-1 rush with Tommy Wingels â€" the Senators never led.

Lundqvist's counterpart, Ottawa goaltender Craig Anderson, was pulled after allowing three goals on 20 shots.

There aren't many good things to say about tonight's game, and I'm sorry if this is going to be too negative for your taste. Boucher said Ryan's injury was a "lower body", and added the team will "reassess" whether one or both can play in Game 4 tomorrow.

The second period did not start much better.

That incident was preceded by a run-in with Chris Kreider, who tripped Karlsson while sliding earlier in the period and Karlsson landed hard on his backside. If Ottawa allows less than 3 goals, they will go back to NY with a series lead.

"So we just thought we needed to improve our mindset of 'Yeah, we want to attack, but not attacking with four guys hoping that the damn thing goes in and forget the rest.' Our approach wasn't respectful approach towards such a great opponent".

The Rangers are coming off a 4-1 victory in Game 3 on Tuesday. We're in the second round of the National Hockey League playoffs.

NFL Draft: No Oklahoma Or Oklahoma State Players Selected In First Round
Pre-draft speculation has Trubisky, who played college ball at North Carolina, as the first quarterback to be selected. Watson, who led Clemson to a national championship in January, felt he should have been the first quarterback drafted.

The 21-year-old had been projected by many as a top-10 pick, with the Los Angeles Chargers at No. 7 often seen as a landing spot. He only played two years of high school football, which was enough to earn the interest of Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer.

Predators take 2-1 series lead, beating St. Louis Blues 3-1
Rinne was equal to the task, finishing with 22 saves for the day. "He was a little frustrated with himself in the first series". The Washington Capitals hope to avoid similar fate, as they finished the regular season with the NHL's best record, at 55-19-8.

The Senators powerplay looked lifeless, and although there were a few glimpses of resuscitation, they could not get any sustained momentum. Lindberg wouldn't stop there, though, and netted his second of the night nearing the end of the period on a bit of a fluky shot. The fact he's been playing and able to compete has been admirable, but it should be noted he's walking just fine when he's not in skates.

Zuccarello had a goal and an assist in the first period and the Rangers went on to a 4-1 victory Tuesday night that cut the Senators' lead to 2-1 in the Eastern Conference semifinal series. Bottom line: If the Rangers play like they did at MSG this series will end quickly.

"It was important for us not to feel sorry for ourselves, being in a tough spot", Lundqvist said. "It's not a one-man show here". "It's about four lines doing everything right, and that's what you need this time of year". The Rangers have outscored the opposition 14-4 during the second period this postseason. After an ill-advised shot from Ben Harpur, Oscar Lindberg doubled the Rangers lead.

Glass also helped set up Lindberg's next goal.

Practice made almost flawless, at least for the two games in NY.

Turris scored at 13:34, but the Senators had trouble generating sustained pressure against Lundqvist and were sloppy with the puck at times.

Boucher said he's got one forward who may be injured and a decision will be made after warmup. "Whenever we got chances, we didn't capitalize". The Rangers did not make any changes to their lineup. On Thursday, they outshot the Senators 11-7 and opened the scoring again. Holden caught a pass from Kevin Hayes to score his first playoff goal of the season, and the fourth of his career.

Zuccarello got the crowd fired up when he got NY on the scoreboard 5:31 into the game.

Game 4 was a different story though.
